Book Awards
Take & Read Bookhound Bookmark Award
For those exceptional books...

These are those book which not only receive 5 stars, but are the best books out there to read.  Books should gain us a greater and more intimate knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The books which win this award do this to a great extent.  They are to be read, meditated upon and reread.  They are to be read upon the knees in prayer, and upon the desk in study.  They are the paths others have traversed before us, giving us the insight and understanding into the spiritual and supernatural aspects of the Lord God and how He deals with men.  They are also the blessed writings of those minds who have been further illuminated than our own minds.  They may be theologians, pastors, lecturers, reformers, puritans, or whatnot.  These books are Kingdom investments, par excellance.

If you know of any books which have so moved you and so inspired you to know Jesus Christ and Him crucified all the more intimately, then write me a critique of the book and send it to my email address.  I will post the critique at a later date on the next update to the site.

What makes me qualified to judge anther man’s work?  I believe that after a person has read over the one million page mark that they may be able to have a say on what they believe is good or bad in the book industry, and have some weight placed upon that critique.  In puritan literature alone I have read over a million pages.  Combine that with the rest of theology, biography, etc!)  I have read good books, very good books, outstanding books, and horribly bad books.  My desire is to push people to read what is good so that they do not waste their time reading things of little or no profit.  I really do not enjoy it when people waste my time.  Time is too precious and the Lord says we are to “redeem the time since the days are evil.”  Your time should not be wasted reading bad books.  They take time to read and ponder.  Read good books!  Hopefully the Sour Puss Stamp will help you wade through the junk and find treasures in other places.
