The Three Forms of Unity: Audio
I have not found a complete audio
series of the Three Forms of Unity anywhere. We can
certainly find them in books, or even on the internet, but now we can listen to them all.
The Three Forms of Unity comprise the Belgic Confession, the Canons of
Dordt, and the Heidelberg Catechism.
The Three Forms of Unity Collection
The
Three Forms of Unity Collection contains all
the documents bound together that were utilized by the Dutch Reformed
Churches. The series is recorded on a new
software package that allows the quality of the recording to be very high
end, even surpassing the quality of a store-bought CD.
The readings are dramatic,
with inflection, tone differentiation and emphasis when needed. They
are NOT monotone like the few files I have heard in the past.
The series, if listened
straight through, would run 4 hours, and was taken from the original
documents published.

The Belgic Confession
The Belgic Confession was written in 1561 by a preacher of the Reformed
Churches in the Southern Netherlands (now Belgium), Guide de Bres, who
died a martyr in 1567. It's primary purpose at the time was to protest
against the cruel oppression by the Roman Catholic government, and to
prove to the persecutors that the adherents of the Reformed faith were
not rebels, but law-abiding citizens.
The Heidelberg Catechism
Written in Heidelberg by two German theologians, Zacharius Ursinus and
Caspar Olevianus, at the request of Elector Frederick III, it was
adopted by the Synod of Heidelberg in 1563.
It consists of a number of questions and answers, and is organized into
52 studies in 52 Lord's Days, allowing the minister to preach on one
section each Sunday of the year.
The Canons of Dordt
Also known as the Five Articles against the Remonstrants, the Canons of
Dort were adopted at the Synod of Dort in 1618-1619, and are statements
of doctrine written to define the Reformed doctrine and reject that of
Arminius and his Remonstrant followers.
