Elders

Admitted to sit and hear in October 1644, the Prince Elector Palatine,
and on one occasion permitted to speak.

Mitchell has found no positive evidence that Messrs. Christopher Love, Moore, and Newscore should be included among the superadded divines. Nor, though he has allowed Dr. Manton's name to stand, he has found evidence that he should be included among them; but he finds that Manton was named along with Calamy and Marshall in 1659-60 to advise with the Committee of the House of Commons respecting the Confession, and that he wrote a prefatory epistle to it.
